ETAP hotels in Paris are part of the Accor group which include other well known chains like Ibis, Novotel and Sofitel.
ETAP is a cheap no frills chain, though it is not the cheapest chain in the Accor portfolio. That honour goes to the Formule 1 hotel chain whose rooms are not en suite.

The ETAP Proposition
Like low cost budget airlines the ETAP hotels aim to do away with unnecessary frills. All are medium/large hotels in large modern blocks. In Paris, most of them share the building with another hotel in the Accor group, normally Formule 1 or Ibis.
Location - none of the ETAP hotels in Paris are in the very centre, you won't be able to walk out of your hotel into the Louvre or Eiffel Tower. Currently, all are sited besides the inner orbital road that goes around the centre of Paris.
All are within a 5/10 minute walk of a Metro station, a 15 minute ride typically from the centre of Paris. However, with the excellent public transport system in Paris and the value for money Paris travel passes available this should be a minor inconvenience to the budget minded traveler.
The neighbourhoods in which the hotels are situated tend not to be that elegant. Some of the hotels like the Porte de Montmartre and Porte de Vanves you may find the district intimidating after dark.

Those at Porte de Bagnolet, Porte de Montreuil and Porte de Italie (East) are in very busy and well lit locations with lots of shops and services on your doorstep.
Rooms can accommodate up to three persons. They are fitted out in a modern and practical way to ensure a comfortable stay. Rooms for three people feature a double bed and a bunk bed. Some hotels now offer rooms for two persons (a queen-size bed or twin beds) and all have large bathrooms, toilets and television. One child (of up to 11 years) is accommodated free of charge in the parents' room (or two children with one parent).
There is an 'all you can eat breakfast buffet' at all ETAP hotels, (not part of the room rate) at a very reasonable cost.
