Hotels In The Latin Quarter Paris are variable in price depending on exact locationwithin the district. The Latin Quarter is technically centred around the Sorbonne, which has attracted students for many centuries long before many countries in Europe had universities of their own.
Today the 'Latin Quarter' term is often used in a very loose manner to cover quite a large area including St Germain, Luxembourg Gardens, Pantheon, Botanical Gardens and Rue Mouffetard, famous for its street market.

The Sorbonne itself is near to Notre Dame, itself on an island in the middle of the River Seine. Opposite (south of) Notre Dame on the Left Bank is an intense tourist area with a fair bit of tourist tat. The Sorbonne lies just south of this.
Because of its very central location with the Louvre only 10 minutes walk this particular area is relatively expensive, even though there is a good mix of simple and luxury hotels.
Basically the further you travel away from St Michel station the cheaper the hotel rates and more value for money you will find within the Latin Quarter of Paris.
Once you get beyond the Pantheon the district becomes more Parisian often with a village like feel to neighbourhoods. There is a spiders network of Metro and local bus routes all over the district, its easy to get where you want to, wherever it may be in Paris from here. Although well west of the centre of Paris even the Eiffel Tower has direct connections with a choice of local bus routes or the RER Line C trains.

St Michel is the pivotal public transport hub of the district. Besides the Metro, from here RER Line B trains provide direct and fast access to both Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports as well as Gare Du Nord station. RER Line C goes direct to the Palace of Versailles.
