Clearly you pay a premium over the off airport hotels but after a long flight a lot of people welcome the convenience of very fast access to a convenient hotel room.

Three of the hotels at Charles De Gaulle Airport, (Ibis, Novotel and Sheraton) are directly above the two RER stations at the airport that serve the passenger terminals. This means you can be in the centre of Paris within 30 minutes if you wish.

The Hilton and Pullman hotels have their own frequent shuttle buses for the very short distance between hotels, train stations and passenger terminals.

A frequent free shuttle train (pictured right) goes the length of the airport with several stations along the way at terminals, stations and car parks. It doesn't matter too much then if your hotel is not immediately adjacent to the passenger terminal you are using.

Hotels At Roissy Village On Other Side Of Motorway/Freeway To CDG Airport

The largest cluster of airport hotels at CDG airport are located just the other side of the motorway/freeway from the airport. Surrounding the old village of Roissy in attractive spacious parkland setting are numerous hotels to suit all budgets. Two separate free shuttle services connect these hotels to the airport passenger terminals.

As well as benefiting from lower hotel rates here, guests of the hotels can stroll into the pleasant village where there are small shops and restaurants.

Hotels At Villepinte - By Parc des Expositions RER Train Station 1 Stop From CDG Airport

Just 5 minutes by train from CDG airport is the large Villepinte international exhibition centre. The RER train station here has trains every 15 minutes to and from CDG airport all day and until late at night, much more frequent than the other off airport bus shuttles.

There are three hotels within about 200m of the RER train station. When there isn't a large exhibition taking place these hotels can be very competitively priced, especially at the weekend.

An added bonus are the local shops and restaurants opposite the station.

The RER trains also mean you can be in the middle of Paris in 30 minutes for some sightseeing and the train service runs until late at night.

Cheapest Hotels At CDG Airport

Arguably the most consistently cheapest hotels at CDG airport are the ultra no frills Formule 1 and ETAP chains, both owned by the French Accor group.

There are found south of the airport, quite isolated, mid-way between Villepinte and Roissy. A shared free service connect the hotels here to CDG airport, but at off peak hours there is long gaps between shuttles.

The Fourmule 1 hotel is the cheapest hotel normally available but unlike alternatives does not have en suite rooms. The ETAP hotel close by is normally next cheapest and has en suite rooms.
