The Latin Quarter of Paris is an area in the 5th arrondissement on the left bank (south side) of the Seine. Cutting north south through the district from Notre Dame is the Boulevard St Michel. Running underneath the Boulevard St Michel is the RER service B train. There are several RER stations including St Michel and Luxembourg. The RER goes direct to CDG airport and also runs to Orly via a branch link.

Metro Line 4 comes in from St Germain running down another boulevard frequented a lot by visitors in the area, Boulevard St Germain. It then crosses the Seine. Metro Line 7 meanders through the centre of the district, connecting with main areas of interest on the right bank like The Louvre and Opera area.
